Hollister United Season Opener Xing with the X-Girls

United had a little rust to knock off with this Fall 2006 season opener against the Milpitas X-Girls. It was a late morning start for the team's sixth season together. In True HUGS fashion, the girls flew off the start with the whistle and put the pressure on their opponent. They did not give them any breathing room. The first goal of the season went to Marissa with the assist going to Alex. Throughout the first half Milpitas struggled against United and play was limited to pretty much their side of the field.

After the start of the second half the X-Girls came out with a fury of their own and were able to pop one in the air on a very confusing play to put one in the back of the net to tie the game one a piece.

After that goal United came back and took several more shots on goal, but none would find it's mark and the game would go down 1-1.

Kylie did an excellent job as goalie and stopped nearly everything that came her way.

United will be facing this team once again on Saturday October the 25th at 9:00am in Milpitas. I'm sure both sides will be fighting to be on top of this game.

This coming Saturday September 16th at 11:00am is a much anticipated game against the MVLA Hurricanes, who we played for the championship in The Soccer By The Bay Tournament.
