Hollister United 3, Hollister Roadrunners 0

The week started off as gloomy and wet, someone must have paid a handsome ransom to the weather gods in return for the beautiful day we had for this early evening scrimmage against the Hollister Roadrunners.

I would first like to thank the Roadrunners for this very exciting scrimmage. This is the first time that Hollister United has faced off against this brand new Hollister U8 team.  The Roadrunners looked and acted like a team to be reckoned with.  My hat is off to you young ladies and the game you played.  I’m sure your team will develop into a powerhouse that all of Hollister can be proud of.

Hollister United had a fabulous game and looked more together as a team then in the previous scrimmage against the Twisters.  The coaches were still experimenting with players and positioning, but over all the game and players had a much better cohesiveness.

Hollister United controlled the ball for most of the game and kept the opposing team’s defenders and goalies quite busy with constant pressure.  All of the girls did an outstanding job. Kristen was able to find the back of the goal to put United on the score board.  The entire team kept momentum up throughout the game creating opportunities for both Brianna and Allee to score as well.  Several of the other girls also had shots on goal.  Chace played the sweeper position outstandingly, looking deceivingly like this was her tenured position when in all reality it was her first time in game play as a sweeper.  Once again great job to both teams!!!  The game was exciting and we hope to have more excitement as the season begins.  

Our first official Spring Season game is Saturday 10:30am at home against the Watsonville Golden Eagles.
